Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how Andrew Anglin, a Washington sole proprietor doing business as "Contractor Lane" ("we," "us," "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Contractor Lane websites, free roadmap builder, paid roadmap, subscriptions, and related services (the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Service.
1. Information we collect
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Information you provide | Name, email address, business name; answers you enter in the roadmap builder (trades you plan to do, business structure, whether you'll hire, hazard triggers); support messages. |
| Purchase & billing | Billing name and contact details, purchase history, and subscription status. Card and bank details are collected and stored by our payment processor (Stripe), not by us. |
| Account & security | Login identifiers, magic-link or password credentials (passwords are stored only as secure hashes), and account settings. |
| Automatically collected | IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, referring page, and general usage, collected through cookies and similar technologies and standard server logs. |
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and we ask that you not submit any through the Services.
2. How we use information
- Provide, operate, and personalize the Services — including building your customized roadmap from your intake answers.
- Process payments, manage subscriptions, and send receipts and account/transactional emails.
- Respond to support requests.
- Send product updates or marketing emails where you have opted in or as permitted by law; you can unsubscribe anytime.
- Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- Improve the Services, including analyzing aggregated, de-identified usage.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them. If we use analytics providers, they process usage data on our behalf under their terms.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers (subprocessors) who run the product under contract, including: Stripe (payments), Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Vercel (application hosting), our web host (marketing site), and our email provider (transactional and notification email). Each is permitted to use your data only to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
- With your direction or consent.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you request deletion or close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business records (such as transaction records). Backups age out on a rolling basis.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit (TLS), hashed passwords, short-lived login tokens, and database access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: view and update your account information, or email us to request a copy of your data.
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and personal information.
- Marketing opt-out: unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any such email; you will still receive necessary transactional messages.
- Depending on your state or country of residence, you may have additional rights (such as to access, delete, correct, or restrict processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them). To exercise any right, email us; we may need to verify your identity.
8. Children
The Services are for business users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Third-party links
The Services link to government and other third-party websites. Their privacy practices are their own; this Policy does not apply to them. Review their policies before providing information.
10. United States
The Services are operated in and intended for users in the United States. If you access them from elsewhere, you consent to processing in the United States.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version. Material changes will be posted here and, where practical, communicated to account holders.
